"tired" gymnasium at the thornton science & engineering campus. the gymnasium building is situated in the centre of the site that was formerly the shell technology, exploration and research centre. the site was taken over by the university from shell in early 2013 to ensure the continued legacy of world-class innovation and research in science and engineering in the north west. it is now home to the universities science & engineering faculty, and is the major research and innovation hub for the university. the 66-acre site contains over 1 million square feet of industrial laboratories, old redundant pipework. the cylinder fed a block of 8 showers which are used 24/7 and required more output than a standard combi could handle. we installed a rinnai instant demand hot water heater to supply hot water to the building without the need for stored water and scaled down the heating side with a worcester cdi, the zones were renewed to eliminate the redundant pipework and simple easy to
